Acrobat

4

Adobe

Mindfrog is using Adobe Acrobat in order to publish several of the Mindfrog project papers.

After Effects

4

Adobe

Mindfrog experimented with several video solutions including color off set techniques promoted in ready to use filters within Adobe After Effects. We opted not to use the technique and have used After Effects for standard video editing capabilites to supply you with the video found on this site.

Broadcaster

1

Sorenson

Mindfrog experimented with several streaming media solutions including the Apple compatible Sorenson Broadcaster. Due to it's strictly Macintosh centric market, we opted for a cross-platform solution in Real Networks System 8 stream solution.

Dreamweaver

3

Macromedia

This site and several mockups have been story boarded and authored mostly in Dreamweaver. Aproximately 70% of the site is Dreamweaver authored and 30% is custom coding added through a text editor called Text Pad.

Fireworks

3

Macromedia

Many of the website graphics have been generated and optimized in Fireworks.

Flash

4

Macromedia

Several of the animations both in this website and for videos Mindfrog has developed using Flash.

Media 100 i
Media 100, Inc.
Mindfrog used this Media100i editing system to process the archived, on-demand experiences. Media 100i digitzed, edited and compressed/exported to quicktime which was then converted to Real Media.

OpenPhone

1

OpenH323
Project

"The OpenH323 project aims to create a full featured, interoperable, Open Source implementation of the ITU H.323." Mindfrog is using this open source project as it's VoIP solution for realtime voice interactivity.

Photoshop

6

Adobe

Several of this site's graphics as well as those found in videos and animations were either created and/or processed through Photoshop.

Premiere

6

Adobe

Mindfrog experimented with several video solutions including color off set techniques promoted in ready to use filters within Adobe Premiere. We opted not to use the color off set technique and have used Premiere for it's capabilities in maintaining interlaced video signals from multple capture sources include IEEE 1394 PCMCIA cards, integrated SVideo capture cards and USB capture cables. We also used standard video editing capabilites to supply you with the video found on this site.

Quicktime

5

Apple

In conjunction with our ealier trials of several streaming media solutions, we worked with Sorenson Broadcaster as well as Apple Quicktime as potential solutions for or streaming media needs. As mentioned earlier, we opted for Real Networks' streaming solution, however many of the on demand files are processed in Premiere as Quicktime (rather than AVI or MPG) movies.

Real

8

Real Networks

Mindfrog is using free academically licensed version of Real Networks' suite of streaming media solutions based on their Real System 8 architecture. We are using Real Producer, Real Player, and Real Server to stream converted movies of varing bandwidths ranging from 100kbps to 1Mbps.

Textpad

3

Helios Software Solutions

Textpad is a shareware text editor application which offers intuitive features that allow for efficient and maximized manual editing of HTML content.

Windows Media
Technologies

7

Microsoft

Windows Media Technologies (WMT) is another streaming media soltuion we are working with. WMT offers inexpensive scalability and a mature streaming solution which is gaining market penetration quickly. We consider WMT as a viable streaming solution; however, we have continued with Real Networks' solutions due to the better performance of certain hardware and the maintaining of an interlaced signal.
